This past week has been a doozy!
Monday we had plans to go to Fuzzy's Tacos for a goodbye dinner for Josh. But, Zoey's eye was swollen because of what we thought was Pollen (more on that later). So, needless to say, Shannon and Josh went without us!
Then on Wednesday, we met Shannon at Harry Myers park to have our pictures taken for our Christmas cards. We were done in less than an hour so Brad and I decided to have IHOP for breakfast.
Zoey is a week a away from being 8months old and that's when we were told we could give her eggs. Since my meal came with eggs, I got them scrambled so that I could give her some.
About 15min after she had a few bites of eggs, her face looked like this...
We decided just to keep an eye on it. On the way home things took a turn for the worse. I won't go into detail but basically, she started vomiting. When we got home and put her in the bath tub, we noticed this awful rash/hives breakout ALL OVER HER TORSO, FACE, CHEST, AND ARMS.
She was also screaming and scratching.
We rushed her to the pediatrician. By the time we got there, she was smiling and her skin was a lot clearer. Dr. Waw said that obviously it was the eggs. She also told us that her reaction was just a step under her airways closing. Praise God that didn't happen!!
She referred us to a pediatric allergen. We thankfully got an appointment for the next day.
We left with a baby full of Benadryl and a prescription for an EpiPen.
The allergen took a lot of notes, told us to keep away from any form of eggs, and set up for another appointment.
On December 27 he will test her for all sorts of food allergies, as well as indoor and outdoor allergies.
(He said he thinks what we thought was a pollen allergy, might actually be a cat allergy!)
I hope everyone had a less eventful week than we did!

Samantha, I'm so sorry to hear this! Shannon was telling us about it this morning. What a scary thing to go through with a baby.
:-(
I hope the allergist is able to pinpoint exactly what's going on and that ya'll don't have to experience that again!
So sorry Zoey! So glad you liked the allergist and hopefully can get more good info after the tests!
So sorry this happenedd...no fun! But I'm glad they will be testing her. Her eczema could be caused by allergies also!
