This past week was Spring Break for Brad. Finally, a whole week to enjoy as a family! The first of the week we got some stuff done that we had been putting off and then on Thursday, we had a "family fun day". We headed to the zoo. The day started off with Zoey crying ALL MORNING LONG. Then, it only took 35min to get to the zoo, but an hour and a half to park.
Finally, we made it in...and things started looking up!
We got to see a Koala...this picture does not do him justice. I think he is probably the cutest thing I have ever seen!
The reptile exhibit is one of my favorites. I don't really know why because they are so gross and creepy, but I love them!
I have seen lots of shows on Animal Planet and National Geographic about Kamodo Dragons, and am fascinated by them. I obviously, have never seen one but there was one here! It's the bottom left but once again, the picture doesn't show him off well.
Once we left there, we saw this shady spot and thought we would let Zoey stretch her legs...but sitting on this rock and playing with the leaves was all she was interested in doing.
Her skirt really does flatter her legs!
=}
We ran into a family trying to take a picture so we did a little, "I'll take yours if you take ours".
We saved the best for last!
These animals are my absolute favorites!!
I am truly amazed by these animals!
The Cheetah was showing off and was walking all around and would come up to the glass then prance away...I think he was a little proud of himself!
Oh the Giraffes. They always make me think of my Grandma because they were her favorite. I think they are beautiful animals.
Our last stop was the Great and Mighty Lions.
They were of course sleeping.
This lady lion fell asleep right up next to the glass.
"Daddy! Do you see that lion?! She is so big!"
Zoey could have stood there all day...I'm pretty sure she just liked touching the glass, but we will pretend she really liked looking at the lion.
After the day started off so bad, it ended up being a wonderful day, spent as a family.

I think labeling a day "family fun day" is what gets us!
Adorbs in the skirt!
