Rangers vs. Marlins Part 1

The first weekend in July has been a highly anticipated weekend since April. Why April? Because that's when Ranger baseball tickets went on sale and we purchased tickets for the weekend when the Florida Marlins come to town. Mom and Dad bought their tickets for all 3 games, but since Brad and I had to work on Saturday morning, we decided to only go to the Saturday and Sunday games.
My grandmother, Momo, and my cousin, Nancy, also got tickets for the Saturday game.

July 2nd was a beautiful summer day which meant the temperature was at or very close to 100 degrees! Thankfully, the Majestic Grand Slam Gift Shop is air conditioned! We waited in the store until time for the game to start and then we had to brave the heat.
A band from the United States Army played our National Anthem. Since Jeffrey had left only a few days before this game, it was a little emotional for me. I will be forever grateful for what he and the other soldiers have done, and are doing for us and our country!

Derek Holland was the starting pitcher. Unfortunately, he was having a very bad day and after giving up a grand slam in the first inning, he was pulled... only 2/3 into the first inning.
As you saw in the picture above of mom, she had a Rangers shirt on...don't let that fool you! She was standing and cheering, along with dad (he at least wore a Marlins shirt), when that grand slam was hit!
When the call to the bull pen was made, out came Tommy Hunter! He has been on the injured list all season and I have patiently been awaiting his return! Saturday was finally the day! He pitched very well for his first game back, but unfortunately the damage had already been done and the Rangers were unable to make a come back.
