The Ice Storm of 2013

After much anticipation and warning, the ice storm hit Thursday night as expected. Friday morning Brad got up and left for work around 6, at 6:30 our power went out. Zoey and I were awake so we got up and I built a fire to keep us warm...so thankful that we have a fireplace!
Zoey got smart and moved her toys away from the back door and in front of the fire!
Around noon, I asked mom and dad to come pick us up...I didn't want Zoey to take a nap in a cold room and end up sick! So off we headed to a house with heat and warm food for our hungry bellies!
The trees in our front yard. I hope my pretty plant back there lives! It's so pretty when it blooms!

Oh ya know, Zo's is just eating a lemon like it's an orange! Yes, she is still her pj's...isn't that what happens on ice days??
After Zoey went to bed, it was just like old times, hanging out with mom and dad watching TV and eating a few snacks! Brad is not pictured because he stayed the night at his moms since she lives less than a mile from his work place. It was a very sad night away from him!
Supposedly, electricity in our area has been restored. Hopefully today when we get home, it will be on! Fingers crossed! Stay warm and safe everyone!
