Last Memorial Day, Shannon and I ran a local 5k. There was also a half marathon so when the sign ups started for this years half marathon, I signed up. I had a year so train so why not?
After a year, the day had finally arrived.
The weather was cloudy and rained through most of the race, but so thankful for it! It kept us cool and the humidity at bay!
I had a couple of goals going in to this run.
1: To finish
2: To finish in 3ish hours
3: To not finish in last place.
I met all my goals! My time was 3:05 and I definitely wasn't the last to finish!
The Patriot Half is no easy task! A lot of avid runners have said this is one of the hardest courses around! I am proud to have conquered it!
I had my own cheering section at the finish line. Mom, Shannon, Josh, Brad, and Zoey were there waiting on me.
My medal! I worked hard for this!
Half Marathon (13.1 miles) - CHECK!
