July 4th

The 4th of July, one of my favorite holidays!
Last year I had to work and we weren't able to attend the local parade and I was pretty bummed about that. This year it was first on the list of our festivities. On the way I ran into Hobby Lobby and grabbed a package of flags knowing Zoey would love to wave them! We arrived a little early and found a nice, somewhat, shady spot.
Elleigh was super excited for her first 4th! She loved getting to dress in red, white, and blue, and getting to go to the parade!
The Mcintire's and Gillespie's were there with us.

The parade was super short, and pretty boring. However, Zoey loved it and seeing her face as she watched it go by was absolutely worth it! She had a ball!
After the parade we had lunch on the patio of Dodie's at the Harbor. The food was great, both girls were happy and it was just a fun time with my little family!
After lunch we headed home for naps.
Since fireworks were waaay after Elleigh's bed time, and she doesn't exactly happy if she can't sleep in her bed, we didn't go to the park like usual. We sat behind the football stadium with the Estes' and a few other families. The reason being, we only had to get there about an hour prior to the fireworks rather than 3hrs!
We made Elleigh a comfortable pallet and she laid there, content, the whole time.
One of the other families brought sparklers but their son didn't want anything to do with them. They offered one to Zoey and she surprisingly wanted to hold it. We had talked about getting some but didn't think she would like them.
She was unsure at first...
...but then decided it was the best thing ever!
The fireworks were spectacular and a great ending to a perfect day celebrating our country and our freedom!
I hope you all enjoyed the 4th as much as we did!

So glad we got to see you even if it was for a short bit at the end of the day!
