Yesterday Shannon and I ran our very first 15K (9miles).
Before our half marathon in May, we knew we needed to try something a little more challenging than a 5k, so we signed up.
After snowing earlier this week we knew it was going to be a cold run!
Cold it was! At race time the temperature was 33 degrees with the wind chill at 24 degrees. Somewhere around mile 2 I got the feeling back in my feet.
The second half of the race was colder than the first due to the fact that nothing was blocking the wind. Even with the weather against us, we finished and deemed it one of our best runs! We couldn't feel most of our bodies when we crossed the finish line (partly because of exhaustion and mostly because we were so cold), but it wasn't called the hot chocolate run for nothing!
They had finisher "mugs" waiting on us! It was filled with a cup of hot chocolate, chocolate fondue, and tasty things to dip in the fondue!
It was a fun run and even though I can hardly move now, I know that I can do it and feel a little bit more prepared for the half marathon!

I'm so jealous ;)
To bad the chocolate froze before we could dip anything into it!
