Balloon Festival

Zoey loves balloons, obviously! What 2yr old doesn't like them? When we heard the local balloon festival was on Saturday, we decided we would take her.
The festivities started with skydivers. One skydiver displayed the Texas flag and another the American flag. Zoey LOVED them!

It was then time to wait for the hot air balloons. The food was basically state fair food. So what does a kid eat when they have an egg allergy? A cold weeny on a stick! Sounds gross, yes, but she liked it!
As we were waiting, the announcers started warning us that because of the wind (we thought it was a nice breeze), the balloons might not be able to go up.
Finally they told the balloon Pilate's that if they felt comfortable, they could go up. So FINALLY, we saw one inflating.

We saw a total of 4 balloons leave the ground. I was disappointed but Zoey wasn't. She LOVED it, and in the end that's all that mattered!

Ah! I wish I had known you were going! One of my best friends helps crew for a balloon and they were doing tether rides! Let me know next time yall head to one and I'll see if she's going to be there to get yall up close to a balloon.
